Stress Management Program - Get Tough With Stress!

Work pressure is often cited as basis for a psychological injury claim. Work pressure includes such things as unrealistic deadlines, work backlog, workplace restructures, unresolved workplace conflict, bullying and unsupportive peers and managers. Workers compensation claims are only the tip of the iceberg in terms of the overall costs to a business of workplace stress. Absenteeism, low productivity, high turnover of staff, poor customer service and erosion of team spirit are just a few of the negative side effects of stress at work.

Organisations at greatest risk for psychological injury claims are those that fail to notice or assess risk factors such as interpersonal conflict, career stagnation, poor communication, depression, job security anxiety just to name a few. Failing to take any action to reduce risk of psychological injury could be seen as failure of duty of care.

Duty of Care requires owners, directors and employees of a business to do everything that is reasonably practical to ensure the safety and welfare of those who are engaged in or provide services to the business. Under Australian Occupational Health and Safety law managers and employees can be found personally liable for breaches of the Act.

THE GET TOUGH WITH STRESS DUTY OF CARE RESOURCES provide organisations with an opportunity to practically demonstrate their duty of care in respect of workplace health and safety and also to substantially reduce their risk of psychological injury claims. The resources consist of a series of MP3 files, Assessment Tools, free weekly stress tip and Powerpoint presentation (see table below). These resources are placed on your Intranet or Corporate Network and made available to employees 24/7. Employees can listen to the recordings at work or download them to their MP3 player to listen at home. Employees may also burn the files to a CD for uploading to their home computer

Mind Mapping - Use Your Whole Brain!

Radiant ThinkingŪ to develop and organise innovative new Ideas

Developed by Tony Buzan - Mind MapsŪ are one of the most powerful and useful tools for both individuals and teams. Tapping into the way the brain actually works, Mind Mapping allows ideas to radiate from a central focus while providing an holistic picture of the situation. This program looks at the practical application of Mind Mapping, and participants will:

  • Learn the nature of radiant thinking and how mind mapping taps into the way the brain works
  • Develop Mind MapsŪ that capture complete concepts and develop new ideas
  • Learn to capture and comprehend information more easily and with greater completeness and clarity
  • Use mind mapping to plan activities of all types
  • Learn to create Mind MapsŪ individually and in teams using both freehand and Mindmanager software

When properly applied, and used to its full extent, Mind Mapping allows people to:

  • Plan major projects and other activities in a fraction of the time normally needed
  • Capture and comprehend vast amounts of information relevant to their focus
  • Work creatively either individually or in a team
  • Generate innovative new ideas related to the task being worked on
  • Communicate ideas and concepts easily and quickly

Workshop Duration:

This is a fast paced interactive half or 1-day workshop, presented by Peter Martini, Accredited Buzan Instructor, corporateamsolutions

"Mind Mapping naturally taps into the creative genius inside of all of us. Instead of having to force everyone's ideas into neat, tidy boxes, I use Mind Maps to capture the best thinking of our large, multinational teams. That is an amazing business advantage."
